Job Summary:

 

Devimpact Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced trainer in Financial Management for World Bank Funded projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Financial Management, with expertise in World Bank-funded projects. The training consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs tailored to the needs of project stakeholders, equipping them with the expertise required to navigate the financial aspects of World Bank-funded initiatives effectively. The role involves collaborating with project stakeholders, designing customized training modules, and delivering engaging sessions to project teams.

 

Description

Key Responsibilities:

 

Develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, case studies, and exercises, focused on financial management principles and practices relevant to World Bank funded projects.

Design and facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and webinars on topics such as financial planning, budgeting, procurement, disbursement procedures, financial reporting, and compliance.

Customize training programs to meet the specific needs and skill levels of diverse audiences, including project managers, program officers, finance staff, and executive leadership within nonprofit organizations.

Provide guidance and support to participants in understanding and navigating the requirements and regulations associated with the World Bank including, internal controls, procurement guidelines and audit processes.

Offer expert advice and recommendations on strategies for effective financial management, risk mitigation, and resource optimization within the context of World Bank-funded projects.

Incorporate practical examples, case studies, and real-life scenarios into training delivery to enhance participants' understanding and application of financial management concepts and techniques.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in Financial management within the nonprofit sector and integrate relevant updates into training content and delivery methodologies.

Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through participant feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve training programs.

Provide ongoing support and mentorship to participants post-training, including access to resources, tools, and networks to facilitate continued learning and professional development.

Education

Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

More Details on Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management for World Bank-funded projects.

Strong knowledge and understanding of World Bank procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements related to financial management.

Practical experience with requirements, compliance standards, and reporting procedures related to World Bank procurement guidelines.

Practical experience of the World Bank funded project’s accounting and financial management systems.

Robust understanding of World Bank project management lifecycle.

Proven experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs or capacity-building initiatives for nonprofit professionals, preferably in a training or consulting capacity.

Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences through dynamic and interactive training methodologies.

Successful consultants will be engaged whenever the training or consultancy opportunity becomes available. The consultant will be engaged on a part time basis for the duration of the training/consultancy assignment.
