Job Purpose

The Research Analyst will use M-KOPA’s internal data resources and external customer data to uncover and share insights and inform business decisions throughout the company. The Analyst combines technical skills, creativity, and business acumen to improve the understanding of our customers, the market, and the company, deliver on operational data processes, and increase transparency and accountability. Analytical findings and actionable recommendations are communicated clearly and concisely to the business, with follow-on support to ensure the proper measurement and evaluation. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively identify opportunities where analysis can drive valuable business and departmental results  
  • Collect user requirements on key analytic/reporting needs for key departmental data needs
  • Clean, interpret, analyze data, and build models using various statistical techniques  
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Manager- Market Development, conduct comprehensive market research to guide internal strategic product and pricing-related decisions 
  • Monitor new product performance in the market and handle product performance reporting 
  • Design user-friendly, clear, and impactful presentations of analytic findings  
  • Improve and streamline technical and business processes  
  • Work within the department to ensure we are enabling data-driven decision-making on the most important business questions  
  • Lead product, customer, and sales agents’ surveys as needed 
  • Any other duties assigned 

Experience

  • 3+ years in data analytics roles, including strong experience doing analysis using excel and querying using SQL
  • Strong field research experience as a lead added advantage

Education

  • BSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Mining, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields preferred but not required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills 
  • Strong writing and reporting skills 
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office packages such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple internal stakeholders and short timelines. 
  • Excellent communication skills, discussing and describing data-related analysis, and ability to work across functions and geographies  
  • Agility –  able to work in a fast-moving environment with frequent change and a sense of urgency. 
  • High integrity and openness combined with a commitment to good governance. 
  • Willingness to work long hours as may be required from time to time. 
  • Work well in teams, and have strong critical thinking & analytical ability. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in larger teams 
  • Experience and a high capacity for managing multiple problems and assignments at the same time and delivering high-quality outputs
