The Role:

The job holder is responsible for managing the digital media unit and implementing the Corporation’s digital strategy. He/she will be in charge of the corporations Digital Assets, developing & implementing the corporation’s digital policies.Responsible for the planning of digital marketing campaigns around big programme launches. Build strong coalitions between teams across multiple disciplines, bringing groups together to collaborate on delivering the campaigns. Working closely with platform partners (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and others) to ensure campaigns take advantage of the latest product developments, and agencies to bring external expertise and consultancy into the work KBC does. He/she will track performance of all digital content and activities of the corporation.Significant accountability as reporting line will be to the Digital Manager.

Specific Terms:

Two (2) years non – renewable contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising officers under the Digital Media Unit
  • Developing and managing Digital Platforms to enhance the Corporation’s portfolio and accessibility
  • Manage a PRSP service
  • Developing strategies to reach new audiences through digital platforms and visibility of the Corporation online
  • Developing the Corporations Digital Brand by, furthering the corporations brand voice, principles, and personality to drive KBC’s visibility online.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and best practice standards
  • Liaising with the Chief Digital Producer and Chief Digital News Editor on content to be published by the Digital Media Officers.
  • Confidence working with financial information; ability to write and manage budgets
  • Measuring Digital Efforts using fact-based methods to monitor your digital efforts to determine ROI, effectiveness & successes. Generating relevant reports of the operations at the unit.

Minimum Educational and Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field from a recognized University
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • Must be a member of a relevant professional body in the area of specialization
  • A high level of computer proficiency

  Minimum Experience:

  • Six (6) working experience in Digital and Social Media Marketing and three (3) years experience in a supervisory role (BE 3) OR five (5) years working experience in Digital and Social Media Marketing and two (2) years experience in a supervisory role (BE 4)
  • Three (3) years of relevant working experience  in developing strategies across Social Media and Digital marketing
  • Demonstrated knowledge in outreach, sales, grassroots, social media, digital buzz building and building sustainable communities
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • A proven experience in using social media analytical tools and ability to tweak marketing strategies based on findings
  • Proven experience with digital & social media advertising platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and You Tube
  • An ability and ambition to find solutions and manage change
  • A high standard of communication and presentation skills in English, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to build long-term relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Flexibility and good prioritisation skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be part of a team and work well with other departments
  • Ability to remain tactful, patient and courteous under pressure
