Our client, A mid-tier 50 bed Level 4 Hospital in the Western region of the country, which has over the last five years established itself as a centre for the provision of quality healthcare services is seeking to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer with visionary leadership to set out the direction for the future. The ideal candidate must be a collaborative team leader, who stimulates the trust and confidence of the Board of Directors, stakeholders, partners, clients and the staff at the Hospital. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the right candidate shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the Hospital.

Key Requirements:

  • Be the accounting officer of the hospital.
  • Be a full member and secretary to the Board of Directors and be directly responsible to the Board on all administrative matters.
  • In charge of the statutory and regulatory, registration and licensing status of the hospital.
  • Responsible for the reporting and public health regulations within the hospital.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with and regular reviews of all agreements made with corporate institutions and clients at the hospital.
  • Responsible for appropriate risk management and control processes and protocols at the Hospital.
  • Ensure that all fiscal responsibilities and commitments held by the Hospital area adhered to.
  • Ensure a fiscal and budgetary calendar is adhered to, using the calendar year.
  • Ensure timely and complete reporting to the subcommittees of the Board while facilitating their smooth operations.
  • Report to the Board of Directors quarterly on the status of the Hospital

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in health, finance or administrative field.
  • Must have certification in healthcare and/or corporate governance.
  • Must have not less than five (5) years’ experience in a senior administrative role in a Level 4 health facility or higher or in a comparative environment.
  • Must have not less than three (3) years’ experience of working with an ERP based hospital management information system (HMIS) that incorporated clinical, accounting and HR modules.
  • Must have a good understanding of finance, budgeting, accounting and audit processes.
  • Should be registered and hold a current license from his/her professional body and be in good standing.
  • Should have a professional indemnity cover for not less than KES 3,000,000.
