Our client seeks to recruit a Senior Accountant

Purpose of the Role:

• Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the role holder is responsible for all reconciliations and invoicing. He/ she will also perform accounting work that supports the resolution of management problems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the daily bank reconciliation is done and Check Daily Banking to confirm all receipts in the system are banked.
• Check daily bank statements for correctness and notify the credit manager of any direct payments received and not receipted
• Review cashbooks and cashbook reconciliations
• Ensure that the daily cash reimbursements are made on time.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing is done and forwarded to credit control for dispatch.
• Reconcile and maintain accurate records in accounts receivable and payables.
• Ensure all payable and receivable accounts are allocated before closing the month. 
• Assist in identification and corrections of errors made in any ledger before month end. 
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports. 
• Assist in preparation and coordination of the audit process.
• Assist in tax computations and returns. 
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports. 
• Assist in preparation and coordination of the audit process.
• Assist with implementation and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures in both payables and receivables. 
• Check and authorize payments in e-Travel relating to petty cash vouchers, and cheque payments vouchers submitted by the cashier and payables accountant respectively.   
• Ensure payments are properly allocated and to the correct supplier accounts. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Accountant

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management or relevant field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in similar role preferably with a proven record of achievement
• Must have a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) license in good standing.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
