About the Role
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Lewa), based in Isiolo Kenya, is an organization that works as a catalyst for the conservation of wildlife and its habitat. We are looking for a high-caliber, self-driven, and dedicated Laboratory Technician with a commitment to excellence to enhance our Healthcare Programme. This position reports to the Nurse in charge. The Ideal candidate‘s main task will be to provide laboratory diagnostic information and services as per the clinic's set policies, procedures, and professional ethical requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Collecting specimens from patients for analysis;
b) Conducting necessary analysis on specimens and providing results;
c) Custody and maintenance of laboratory equipment;
d) Ensure proper storage of reagents;
e) Preparation of monthly and annual laboratory reports; f} Ensuring cleanliness in the laboratory at all times.
Qualifications
1 A certificate/diploma In Medical Laboratory sciences.
2. Professional certification through registration by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB).
3. At least 2 years post qualification experience in a busy healthcare setup.
4. Computer literate and conversant with different automatic laboratory equipment. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Knowledge of HIV/Aids management.
6. Ready to work under minimum supervision.
7. Ready to start working immediately.
