Job Objective/Purpose

Works closely with the Quality manager, CNO, CMO, Clinical Governance Committee to achieve the strategy of delivering high quality of nursing care with the best practices and excellent patient outcomes and is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and improving nursing/clinical care in the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyze, and maintain data related to the quality of clinical practice. presents quality indicators for the group management on a monthly basis.
  • Identifies, designs, and implements new processes, evidence-based nursing care to continuallyimprove outcome of care and to achieve performance targets.
  • Manage the maintenance of the Quality Management System to ensure it meets regulatory compliance as well as the Accreditation standards
  • Work/liaise closely with the Nursing Services Managers, Chief Nursing Officer and other departmental heads when undertaking the auditing and inspection roles.
  • Schedule and perform Facility and Clinical Audits in accordance to laid out policies and develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions arising from Audits.
  • Carry out quality improvement plans and disseminate the information to the relevant teams and departments for quality improvement. 
  • Promote awareness of Quality and Regulatory compliance throughout the organization through organized training programs as and when required and participate in training of nursing staff on quality systems to address identified problems to enhance clinical excellence and patient safety. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information connected to monitoring and evaluation of clinical practice.
  • Ensure that there is monitoring and control all official clinical documents being used in the facility and ensure version control of the organizations policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop own professional competencies and knowledge which will evolve dependent on the job requirements. 
  • Provide leadership to achieve high performance by ensuring employee development, employee engagement and performance management to deliver organization objectives and goals.  

Personal Specifications

  • Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing)
  • Valid Practice Licence by the relevant regulatory body
  • Advanced training in quality management will be an added advantage 
  • More than 5 years’ work experience. 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in statistics
  • Experience within the medical industry in Quality / Regulatory functions and familiarity with Quality System standard concepts and procedures will be an added advantage.
