Our client a leading professional cleaning service in East Africa is looking to hire a Human Resource Manager.
Job Purpose
The primary role will be to facilitate the improvement of organizational capability by developing and harmonizing systems and processes and involving people to maximize ownership, commitment, and engagement to achieve business excellence. This includes organization design, linking HR deliverables to the vision, mission, and strategy, improving processes, and building business cultures that best support the overall mission.
Responsibilities
Main Duties
1. Managing and executing an effective performance management framework.
2. Leading in the development, reviewing, and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures to provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture
3. Leading the Manpower planning cycle across the organization and ensuring the manpower budget is within the operating budget.
4. Mitigate organizational risk by ensuring compliance with all labor laws.
5. Preparing the annual budget for the HR function and ensuring proper budgetary control.
6. Providing enterprise change management expertise, counsel, and tools to enable management to effectively navigate through the business changes
7. Monitoring and reviewing the organizational structure for all departments in order to facilitate the delivery of the company’s strategic plan.
8. Providing coaching and mentoring as needed to management teams to support their business plans and objectives.
Qualifications and experience
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline. An MBA in Human Resource Management /Business Management will be an added advantage.
2. At least 8 years of generalist HR experience.
3. A sound knowledge of labor laws and codes of practice.
4. Experience in working in a service and unionized environment with large workforces.
5. A track record of successful Human Resource leadership in driving people, organization development, and change management.
6. Ability to be effective both strategically and at the hands-on operational level.
