Job Description

AMI is looking for an ambitious and talented Lead, People Operations to develop and implement People strategies, policies and initiatives to support our employees across Africa. You will also be tasked to drive legal compliance and process innovation across our operations in all our offices.

HR Operations and Compliance:

  • Ensure legal compliance and best practices across all operational markets
  • Ensure completion, continuous improvement and documentation regarding all our HR policies
  • Develop and implement global People Ops processes, enhancing efficiency and consistency: 
    • Contracts
    • Payroll
    • Health & Security
    • Leaves
    • Compensation & benefits
    • Onboarding
    • Travel, etc
  • Document all of our HR processes in our Resource Center, and communicate accordingly to the relevant stakeholders 
  • Implement, continuously improve, own end-to-end and develop our HIRS (Work pay)
  • Work closely with local People Ops representatives to understand and address market-specific needs

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Oversee compensation structures and benefit programs.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.

Employee Relations:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Address employee concerns and mediate conflicts as needed.
  • Organize company events and initiatives that promote team building and engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with a current active membership in IHRM.
  • 8+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, with some years in a leadership role
  • People Ops and payroll experience: You have previous strong experience as a Local People Operations Expert or a Global HR Generalist with a strong understanding of legal compliance in African markets and proficiency in HRIS
  • Fast-growing / Tech company experience: You have thrived in a hyper-growth environment, demonstrating an ability to understand quickly and manage emerging business needs.
  • Customer-driven: You understand the business needs and all of your actions are driven towards supporting your business partners
  • Continuous improvement mindset: You take every chance to suggest improvements and new ways of doing things, you are open to feedback and have a strong will to learn and grow
