Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of livelihoods and food security projects, under the supervision of senior staff members.

  • Participate in field assessments, surveys, and data collection activities to gather information on livelihoods, food security, and related issues.

  • Support the development of project proposals, work plans, and monitoring frameworks for livelihoods and food security interventions.

  • Help analyze and interpret data collected during assessments and surveys, and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations.

  • Collaborate with project partners, community leaders, and beneficiaries to facilitate the effective implementation of project activities.

  • Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and community meetings on topics related to livelihoods diversification, agricultural practices, and food security.

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of project activities, including tracking progress against project indicators and documenting lessons learned.

  • Stay informed about developments and best practices in the fields of livelihoods and food security, and contribute ideas for innovation and improvement.

  • Provide administrative support as needed, including organizing project documentation, scheduling meetings, and maintaining communication with project stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the organization's social media and communication efforts related to livelihoods and food security projects, including content creation and dissemination.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in fields such as Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics, Environmental Science, or related areas.

  • Strong interest in livelihoods and food security issues, with a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable populations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis software is preferred.

  • Previous experience or coursework in project management, community development, or related fields is advantageous but not required.

  • Fluency in English is typically required, with proficiency in other languages relevant to the geographical context of operations being advantageous.
