Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and devices in accordance with established schedules.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring compliance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, perform repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to coordinate electrical work and minimize disruption to hospital operations.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies promptly and provide immediate solutions to ensure patient safety and uninterrupted medical services.
  • Keep accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations, including work performed, materials used, and expenses incurred.
  • Recommend upgrades and improvements to electrical systems and equipment to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols, grounding, and arcnflash protection.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical technology, codes, and regulations to ensure the hospital's electrical systems are up-to-date and in compliance.
  • Work with procurement department to maintain inventory of electrical supplies and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and support to other maintenance staff on electrical systems and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Diploma and/or certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Valid electrician license issued by the relevant regulatory authority.
  • Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations
