Job summary:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor performs inventory control duties by receiving / releasing, inspecting, documenting, and recording all job site materials movements. The supervisor will be responsible overall warehouse operations by supervising the subcontracted warehouse Service provider to ensure compliance to all processes.

The incumbent also orders job site materials as directed by Buyers, maintains inventory of commonly used items, ships materials to crews and works closely with internal and external customers as a customer service point. The incumbent will train and mentor warehouse assistant(s), ensure compliance with all processes, procedures and policies and ensure the security and safety of the warehouse is met at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Purchases replacement materials as per our client’s procurement policy guidelines and procedures and as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Coordinates receiving, documentation, storage, and shipping of materials.
  • Checks freight bills and purchase orders against the physical shipment, inspects shipments to ensure all contents are contained and no damage has occurred during shipment, and contacts vendor if a discrepancy is identified.
  • Coordinates and supervise offloading of shipments.
  • Inventories receipts against purchase orders and shipping documents.  Files receipt documentation.
  • Photographs damage to materials, documents overages and shortages and tags materials with purchase orders.
  • Report all rejected purchased materials to the Supply Chain Manager and subsequently to the responsible vendor who has supplied/delivered the materials if they do not conform to the requirements as stipulated by the Purchase order.
  • Maintains a shipping / receiving log with daily entries.
  • Places materials in proper storage locations according to storage and handling lists; initiates storage change forms and documents new storage locations.
  • Advise the Supply Chain Manager of any expired/obsolete stock
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains warehouse assuring that all inventories are stored securely and neatly placed throughout the warehouse.
  • Prepares and issues materials to authorized personnel as indicated on work orders and stores requisition form through outside logistic company vendors.
  • Writes specifications for new purchases, obtains quotes, selects best choice and obtains approval for purchases when directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Transfers inventory shipments via Oracle
  • Codes inventory transfers to proper accounts or projects and tasks
  • Logs inventory receipts via Oracle
  • Manages warehouse Service provider to ensure performance meets all levels of required job performance
  • Oversees all functions of shipping, receiving, and maintaining inventory control
  • Performs weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventories to verify inventory counts
  • Supports Supply Chain manager, buyers, operations and redevelopment personnel with knowledge of inventory shipping trends and timely inventory order requisitions
  • Ensure physical count is always at par with balances in Oracle
  • Make reports as required by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Assists in training and development of new employees in various functional departments of the company, for the purpose of learning to complete the inventory order form.
  • Ensure proper and timely disposal of assets as per procedure and Policy and NEMA guidelines
  • Coordinate with the contracted warehouse personnel to identify and manage obsolete inventory.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage the performance of direct reports as well as contractors and sub-contractors
  • Create strong collaborative team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Excellent Analytical and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements within the Construction industry.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite. Oracle is preferred.
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent process creation and implementation skills
  • Ability to work in a high volume time sensitive environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills

EDUCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree on procurement and logistics
  • Partial qualification in CIPS
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse management
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
