Key Roles & Responsibility.

  • Preparing vouchers for payments and checking that all documents are in order
  • Bookkeeping and general ledger work in accordance with Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs practices and procedures for financial management
  • Payments to suppliers including bank transfers and petty cash management
  • Prepare monthly accounts and reconciliations
  • Payroll and statutory payments for local staff
  • Prepare payments of travel claims for local and expatriate staff
  • Other administrative tasks and reporting when necessary
  • Assure the above being handled efficiently and in a timely manner in accordance with Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs practices and procedures for financial management
  • Liaise closely with all members of staff, including expatriate staff, this requires good interpersonal skills

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors in accounting or other similar education, working towards full ACCA /CIMAG examinations or CPA
  • A minimum of 5 years experience, working with bookkeeping, payments and payroll as the main tasks
  • Currently/recently working in a role as bookkeeper/ finance officer, or in a similar role in the private sector, NGO or in an international organisation
  • Knowledge of payroll and statutory payments
  • Taking initiative, being driven and organised are essential qualities to succeed in the role
  • Proficiency in basic MS Office programs: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Being an effective team player and good communicator
  • Being discreet, reliable and have a high level of integrity
  • Strong work ethic, showing punctuality and working according to sharp deadlines
