The Research Administration Officer will play a key role in ensuring quality and compliance of research projects at the Amref Ethics and Scientific Review Committee.
Responsibilities:
Manage research administration activities and ensure compliance with research ethics
Provide support to the Ethics and Scientific Committee on all matters related to research administration
Ensure reporting procedures to National Commission of Science and Technology and Innovation (NACC) are met
Manage research databases and perform data analysis using Excel, SPSS, STATA or EPI info
Collaborate with the research team and provide support as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Public Health, Statistics or a related discipline
1-2 years of relevant experience in supporting Ethics and Scientific Committees
Professional training in research methods, ethics, administration, monitoring, and evaluation is an advantage
Experience in database management and data analysis using relevant software
Experience in a busy health NGO, particularly working in an Institute Review Board in Kenya
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, SPSS, STATA, or EPI info
Excellent teamwork skills and effective communication and interpersonal abilities
