ABOUT THE ROLE

Key responsibilities for the role include: 

  • Provide leadership and management of the Student Connections Programme aimed at developing students’ character, capabilities and connections through exposure to local, regional and global events. 
  • Develop a vision for extra curricular programming at Tatu Day School
  • Coordinate all clubs (scheduling, space allocation, recruitment of patrons/vendors, onboarding and offboarding of patrons/vendors, preparation of objectives, sign-up, sign up confirmations, awards/certificates, budgeting, reporting, etc.)
  • Provide quality and standards assurance for clubs to guarantee value for money
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the club experience for parents
  • Lead the planning and implementation of field trips and other school trips
  • Lead the planning and implementation of staff professional development sessions on student enrichment (games, clubs and other co-curricular activities) both internally and externally
  • Identify opportunities and coordinate preparation and participation of students in internal and external events to develop talents and build competitive school teams
  • Manage direct reports that may include sports/PE coaches, club patrons, music teachers and interns
  • Manage all club patrons and club vendors

ABOUT YOU

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and you are TSC certified
  • A Masters degree in education/social sciences is not compulsory, it would be an added advantage.
  • You are passionate about developing young leaders through strong extra curricular programming- you understand what it takes to connect with students outside of the classroom through these activities and understand the value it brings to a child's growth and development.
  • You have a strong record of leading students to successful participation in inter-school competitions preferably up to the national level and beyond. E.g. in drama, music, STEM, debating, sports, scouting, etc. 
  • You have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills that encompass trust and respect
  • You have excellent communication and people management skills
  • You are flexible, adaptable, innovative and creative
  • You understand the complexities of working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted organization
  • You have a passion for students and student competitions
  • You have high energy levels and are known for producing great results with students
  • You are familiar with Google suite functions and capabilities and are technologically competent
  • You are flexible and open to change - you handle uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity well.
  • You are a problem solver - you are proactive in identifying issues and address these thoroughly by making an effort to find appropriate solutions.
  • You are excited about our organizational culture—and in particular, you are fired up to challenge yourself by embracing mutual vulnerability and a firehose of feedback.
