The main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that all maintenance requests are attended to professionally and promptly
- Performing and overseeing diagnostic fault finding and pressure testing
- Performing diagnostic testing to establish if components have failed or are out of performance specification
- Maintaining communication channels with clients in relation to expected downtime
- Maintaining proper records on daily service sheets and planned maintenance service sheets
- Promoting a safe working environment
- Ensuring effective communications within and between shifts
To succeed you will be required to have:
- A certificate/trade qualification in Automotive Engineering from a recognized institution
- A minimum of 5 years’ post training experience in the repair and maintenance of earth moving equipment
- A sound and demonstrable understanding of engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulics, and autoelectrics
- A committed and positive attitude to safety
- Experience in Automotive Air conditioning, CAT Electronic Technician (ET) and CAT Service Information Systems (SIS)
- Demonstrable experience with Caterpillar mining and construction equipment
- Strong communication skills and teamwork experience
- Sound computer skills
- A valid driver’s license
