The main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Carrying outtroubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment
- Disassembling, reassembling and reinstalling equipmentin the plant using OEM manuals
- Carrying out condition monitoring as required
- Recording all completed work and parts used in the work order system
- Setting up fitting tools on the job at hand and instructing fitter assistants on fitting tools as required
- Accurately reading, interpreting and planning work according to drawings
- Setting up and operating workshop machines including but not limited to conveyors, elevators and pumpsas instructed and as per standard operating procedures
- Ensuring good housekeeping of workshop and work areas
- Ensuring accurate records of maintenance activities are kept
To succeed you will be required to have:
- A minimum of a Government Trade Certificate 1 in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a similar industry
- Maintenance and diagnostic skills on relevant equipment
- Experience in the use of electrical and manual tools including and not limited to grinders & drilling machines
- Accuracy in record keeping and timekeeping
- Ability to read and interprettechnical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to details
