About the Role

Purpose of consultancy

To contribute to the design, development, facilitation and implementation of relevant training activities, facilitate the coordination and arrangements of GOARN field training courses, maintain the GOARN virtual training platform and assist with the overall day-to-day operations of the GOARN Capacity Building and Training Programme. 

Deliverables

  • Coordinate, update and maintain the GOARN virtual training platform and provide technical guidance to the registered users. 
  • Provide on-site and remote technical guidance for course delivery of the GOARN Capacity Building and Training Programme, including course coordination, preparation of materials, co-facilitation, and training evaluation. 
  • Contribute to the final development stages of the face-to-face GOARN Outbreak Response Leadership Training package and support all arrangements for the pilot test. 
  • Contribute to sharing of information, conducting needs analyses, evaluations, creation of new courses and preparations for course delivery. 
  • Prepare technical, donor and advocacy reports on activities of the GOARN Capacity Building and Training Programme. 

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

  • University degree in Education, Public Health, Science, Management, International Relations or related disciplines from an accredited/recognized institute.

Desirable: 

  • Post-graduate qualification in education and/or training.
  • Specialized training in public health emergency response. 

Experience

Essential:

  • At least seven years’ relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in humanitarian, public health emergency response and/or capacity building and training or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in designing, delivering and evaluating both online and face-to-face training courses.
  • Previous experience using virtual training platforms including Learning Management Systems(LMS). 

Desirable:

  • Prior humanitarian working experience at field level with WHO/UN, GOARN, health cluster partners, recognized humanitarian organization or with an international nongovernmental organization with expertise in disaster and outbreak response.
  • Prior experience and/or engagement with the GOARN Capacity Building and Training Programme.
  • Prior experience with Learning Management Systems Administration, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience using eCourse authoring tools such as Articulate 360.
  • Prior experience in designing, developing and/or delivering capacity building and training initiatives for humanitarian or public health emergency leadership. 
  • Prior experience with online serious gaming.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
