Duties and Responsibilities

Government Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and manage an internal and external stakeholder engagement strategy and plans and facilitate their integration into the development of company strategies
  • Support the implementation of the stakeholder engagement plans including the planning and execution of stakeholder events, correspondence, creation of appropriate documentation and the recording and analysis of feedback
  • Coordinate and develop a communications program in support of the company strategy teams to deliver improved stakeholder engagement and customer service to enhance communication with key stakeholders
  • Assist teams to develop communications material that is simple and fit-for-purpose
  • Assist in the preparation of written briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence to a State and National audience, as well as Ministerial briefing papers and correspondence, presenting the company’s position on a range of programs and initiatives,
  • Contribute to ensuring licensing and approvals of all statutory requirements are successful and applications are completed on time

Policy and Advocacy

  • Conduct continuous analysis of all laws, regulations, bills, and policies, that affect Sanergy, examining whether these regulations are prohibitive, neutral, encouraging, or incentivizing to the business across Sanergy’s waste management value chains and propose a course of action
  • Create policy & legislative one-pagers and topic briefs to support the team’s work.
  • Attend and participate in relevant policy-related events and groups as agreed and report
  • Work with the line manager to ensure continuous engagement with both government and non-government policy stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required bachelor’s degree in political science/public policy or relevant degree option
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with policy, government sector
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently and must have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills required and an ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner, both independently and collaboratively
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work proactively - thinking ahead
  • Humility, integrity and a sense of humour.
