Your Charge

To lead the planning, learning, and designing of approaches, methodologies, and tools for community health systems strengthening to ensure LG’s support strengthens the impact, sustainability, resiliency, and cost-efficiency of community health systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy             

  • Support the Director Program Strategy and Excellence to design high impact, evidence-based, and context responsive CHSS programs focusing on the institutionalization of efficient Community Health best practices including digitalization and data-driven approaches and clear KPIs to measure success.
  • Coordinate work across countries to support all delivery teams (KE, UG, and new countries) in designing, and planning high-impact Government leads approaches and programs.

Technical support         

  • Develop/ refine frameworks, systems, processes, and best practice tools to ensure a standardized coherent approach to partnering with Government.
  • Provide technical input and/or bring technical experts to strengthen countries' enabling environment and ensure CH system become more sustainable. This will include policies, guidelines, supply chain, and costing. 
  • Partner with countries leads to ensure Government programs and partnerships deliver against set KPIs, as per negotiated co-financing arrangements, roadmaps, and timelines
  • Advice on Government partnership and programs course correction if not working
  • Build and strengthen the capacity of country teams to ensure a standardized, coherent approach to delivering Government partnership.

Documentation, Thought Leadership & Learning            

  • Ensure learnings across partnerships are well documented and collated to influence quality implementation internally and influence policy and practice externally
  • Work hand in hand with the advocacy team and communication team to transform documentation into powerful external tools
  • Represent Living Goods as a thought leader in CHSS, with funders, coalitions, partners and other global or country stakeholders

Business Development 

  • Provide technical input into relevant proposals and partnerships

People management    

  • Recruit and manage team members and/or consultants and ensure strong coordination of different technical workstreams
  • Bring out the best in people and build a culture of high performance and engagement in line with the organization’s values

Skills and Competencies

  • Over 8 years and above of experience in management and programs design, health policy development, and/or working in health system strengthening efforts.
  • Ability to analyze, comprehend, and articulate the operational goals and strategic plan of the organization.
  • Builds commitment through collaboration, consultation, and consideration of the stakeholders and the teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Engagement with various African Governments.
  • Management of skilled technical teams.
  • Dealing with ambiguity.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Policy writing.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Public Health; Health Systems Strengthening; Health Leadership and Management; Public Policy and Administration; Global Health.
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical, Public Health, or related field;
  • Professional qualification in i.e. Adult learning, Coaching, etc preferred.
