About Purple Elephant Ventures:

Purple Elephant Ventures (PEV) is a Nairobi-based venture studio. We build three or four start-ups from scratch per year, each of which helps to lead Africa’s tourism industry to a
greener future. As a venture studio, we are continuously ideating, testing and building ideas into startups. At PEV, we believe that the only way to protect Africa’s biodiversity and natural capital is to make sure local communities and governments have financial incentive to protect it. Tourism is the only industry with the incentive and the financial means to do this. PEV builds innovative and profitable start-ups to achieve this at scale.
The Role:
As a Venture Builder, you will have a senior management role at PEV core to our growth and development. You must be deeply passionate about start-ups and the role that innovation can
play in leading Africa’s tourism ecosystem to a greener future. More specifically, you will join our team of other Venture Builders, working collaboratively on all aspects of turning ideas into
businesses - from ideation to research, to developing the first products, to sales, marketing and beyond. While you will work across all aspects of our start-ups, you will also have a
demonstrated ability to lead B2B sales/relationships, which you will work on across all our start-ups. You will have a diverse set of skills, but with a deep love of start-ups, an inherent
appreciation of data and a growth hacking mentality - you thrive running fast paced experiments across the entire customer journey.
Qualifications:
● We are looking for a keen, experienced, proven, and talented lover of start-ups, travel and climate action
● B2B sales experience
● An entrepreneurial-minded doer who can help our team achieve results
● A hustler who will work day and night and never give up until successful
● Impeccable judgment and attention to detail
● A demonstrated love of start-ups and start-up culture
● A demonstrated passion for tourism
● A demonstrated belief in the urgency of climate action
● A positive attitude and collaborative nature
● Endless energy and the ability to just get things done
● The legal ability to work in Kenya
Expected Start Date:
● As soon as possible.
Job Location:
● Nairobi, Kenya. With some travel expected.
Expected Remuneration:
● A salary package as per other Venture Builders at PEV, with a realistic chance of share options for a job well done
