Our client is a Logistics Freight and forwarding industry and they seek to hire an HR Officer who will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment, casuals’ management, Staff Attendance, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning shift schedules for drivers and janitors.
  • Drafting employee’s contract, updating, and monitoring expiry dates.
  • Preparation of loan/advance requests for approvals.
  • Casual planning and payroll processing support for HOD.
  • Submission of daily/weekly/monthly reports such as attendance report etc
  • Executing the recruitment and selection process for assigned Departments
  • Implementing terms and conditions of service e.g. medical cover, leave for staff.
  • Providing guidance, counseling and advisory support to staff.
  • Enabling effective grievance handling and dispute resolution.
  • Participating in the implementation of induction, training, and development programs for new Hires.
  • Ensuring that all HR-related costs like the Loans and Salary advances for assigned departments are within the approved budget.
  • Maintaining up-to-date staff records.
  • Facilitating continual improvement of the HR policies and practices.
  • Assisting in on going court cases by doing follow up to keep abreast with the progress and update the management.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Social Sciences/ Human Resources
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ solid experience in a busy Human Resources Department in a similar role.
  • Experience in general HR processes, such as behavioral interviewing, candidate evaluation, employee relations and knowledge of current labor laws.
  • Effective advisory and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Member of IHRM
