Our client a leading Microfinance offering logbook Loans and assets financing is looking to for Human Resource Officer. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit, train, support and maintain measures of organizational performance. In addition, he/she will be expected to assist the Credit Administrative Officer and Sales & Marketing department in providing the foundational support and functional expertise to drive logbook loan sales and meet overall set targets. The Ideal candidate Must have a Minimum of 3 years in a Financial Service Sector in a similar role.

Key Requirements:

  • Maintaining and updating the Staff database
  • Managing leave records and ensuring staff go on leave as scheduled.
  • Handling all correspondence for the new employees i.e., appointment/contract letters; confirmation letters and making follow ups with the Head of Departments.
  • Ensuring proper staff clearance procedures, staff handover process upon exit and ensuring timely payment of terminal dues as per the company policy
  • Keeping track of staff contract expiry dates and renewal according to company policies.
  • Organizing quarterly training programs as per the approved training calendar, prepare reports on training evaluation and training feedback scores for all trainings
  • Preparation of information required for HR Audit and ensuring all required documents are in place.
  • Handling disciplinary cases and grievances in line with stipulated company rules and policies
  • Design, implement and manage an effective performance management system to foster a performance-based culture.
  • Managing performance by coming up with KPIs, setting target, monitoring performance by tracking progress from target set (monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual performance) and giving timely feedback in well-defined Monthly and quarterly reports as well as prepare presentations for the management.
  • Recruiting, training and supporting the sales team she/he will oversee.
  • Induction of the new employee and ensuring all the employees embrace the corporate image of the company and uphold its values always.
  • Developing and implementing incentives aimed at rewarding top performers and performance Improvement programs for poor performers.
  • Analyzing key skill gaps that affect performance and develop training needs for departments.
  • Assisting with payroll through data entry, processing, and calculation of weekly payments and advances for Permanent and contract staff.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned by the reporting authority.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Valid membership certificate from IHRM.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional Kenya CHRP (K) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Financial Service Sector in a similar role.
  • Should have Experience in payroll management
  • Should be Proficient with Digital Tools, report writing and power point presentations.
  • Should have Project and People Management Skills.
  • Effective Communication Skills both oral and written among diverse audiences.
