Our client, an International Engineering company that manufacturers steam management systems is looking for a hands-on Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively promoting and selling the Company’s broad (and developing) range of products, including their core mechanical products, controls & instrumentation and metering products, and those in the field of heat transfer.  He/She will support installation, repairing and servicing of the client’s equipment at the customer site and in‐house, as well as promote efficient use of steam to achieve energy savings and process productivity throughout the industry by providing technical solutions, whether using new components or servicing existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve a monthly profitable order level to ensure he/she meets or exceeds the annual sales target set by the Company for the Sales Engineer
  • Generate sales to exceed forecast
  • Generate profitable orders from the sales accounts assigned, ensuring complete customer satisfaction and establishing a long-term relationship of trust and confidence between the company and their valued customer
  • Maintain a full understanding of the market. Be aware of market developments and the activities of the competition. Identify sales opportunities and understand how to convert them
  • Conduct customer training and co‐ordinate promotional activities with the Sales Team Leader or Sales Manager/General Manager
  • Handle customer complaints and quality concerns regarding the products and services supplied
  • Maintain an active call planning and reporting system, and be prepared to provide regular updates of his/her activities – customer visits, quotations, orders, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a high-level knowledge of their products as well as their application through a program of self‐study and company-conducted training
  • To perform any special projects or tasks that may be assigned from time to time
  • Ensure that customers receive accurate and timely quotations for products/services; may expedite orders. Follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction with product/service and to identify needs for potential future business
  • Assist customer with installation and commissioning of electronic controls, electrical and mechanical components

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with relevant experience
  • Must have at least 4 years of working experience in engineering and sales
  • Suitable competency in Windows computing, Word, Access database, excel and power point with some experience in AUTOCAD drawing.  Additional experience in any CRM software will be an added advantage
  • Electronic / Electrical competency with basic electronic communication language
  • Ability to work on your own and in a team
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience with a valid driving license
  • A flexible approach to work and hours
  • A willingness to travel and stay on overnight trips
  • Basic knowledge of the French language will be an added advantage
  • Strong technical background and previous experience in a similar or same environment
