Our client, a prominent Agricultural Company in the country is seeking to hire Human Resource Officer. The HR will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource at the farm site and manage the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Agricultural/fishing sector. Preferably with hands-on experience working and coordinating casuals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation.
  • Assist recruitment of potential applicants based on experience, skills, and education, completing employee documentation, recording data on each current employee.
  • Complying with regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating to Human Resource.
  • Coordinate HR projects in coordination with the HR Nairobi office.
  • Help organize and manage new employee orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
  • Provide documentation of employee attendance, bonuses, and personal time to be used in payroll preparation.
  • Answer employee questions and address employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
  • Manage employee relations and disciplinary matters.
  • Casual management.
  • Provide monthly Human Resource related information reports.

 Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have a relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • 4+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Preferably with hands-on experience working and coordinating casuals.
  • A member of IHRM.
  • Experience working in an agricultural/ Fishing sector will be an added advantage.
  • Must be well conversant with the labor laws and ethical HR practices.
  • Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to form working relationships with people at all levels.
