Job Summary
The job holder is answerable to the Senior Assistant Land Surveyor and is responsible for offering Land Survey Services within the Authority including assisting in identification, mapping and marking for protection and registration of road reserves.
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Support in the cadastral Surveys, adjudication Surveys, photo control and engineering surveys;
b) Ensure standardization and certification of survey equipment used for road projects, monitor and evaluate integrity of survey work done for road works;
c) Support in the Identification, mapping, marking and maintenance of road reserve boundaries;
d) Support in the establishment of Primary and Secondary Survey Control Network for use by the Authority;
e) Implement the Department's Performance Contract;
f) Support in the Implementation of Title Surveys for registration of the Authority's road corridors;
g) Collect and analyze the data on the status of the road reserves belonging to the Authority;
h) Support in the executing the opening of road reserves and ensuring the removal of illegal structures/utilities, and preparation of the necessary reports and documentation; and
i) Perform any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
For appointment to this position, the ideal candidate must:
a) Have a Certificate in Land Survey or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
b) Be a Technician member in good standing of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), (Land or Engineering Surveyors Chapter); and
c) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
