Our client a top  poultry farm in Kenya is looking to hire a Poultry farm veterinarian officer to be based in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements for the farm are met.  Must have 2 years working experience in a similar role.

Key Requirements:

• Supervising laboratory operations.
• Management of laboratory system efficiently and effectively to the required standards.
• Developing and implementing laboratory standard operating procedures and approving appropriate changes.
• Supervising laboratory personnel for effective delivery of services.
• Collaborating with other departments that complement the laboratory for overall achievement of company goals and objectives.
• Signing out all results including double checking all opinions and interpretations made on the report.
• Managing staff and other resources to deliver healthy birds as per breed standards.
• Collaborating with senior management in addressing any gaps that may undermine optimal delivery of required results.
• Preparing and presenting farm performance reports in line with set standards.
• Building good relationship with Director of Veterinary Services and other stakeholders for information gathering on requirements and implementation of required standards.
• To work jointly with hatchery manager in management and coordination of hatchery processes and activities.
• Sampling chicks for quality checks before dispatching to our customers.
• Ensuring timely renewal of hatchery licenses.

Qualifications:

• Must have a degree in veterinary medicine.
• Must have proven understanding of poultry disease management.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Displayed fluency in English.
• Should have a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Must be a team player with good communication skills
• Must be honest and of high integrity.
• Must have impeccable observation skills.
• Fast learning ability.
