Our client, a prominent market leader in material handling solutions is seeking to hire a general manager. The successful candidate will oversee Covering day to day running of the company to improve efficiency and increase profits while managing, leading, coaching and encouraging the sales team for maximum performance and dedication. Desirable candidate Must have 10 years working experience and 5 years in a senior management position.

Key Requirements:  

  • Lead the development and implementation of the company’s strategy (by studying industry best practices, technological and financial opportunities).
  • Lead the development and monitoring of annual budgets.
  • Allocate resources, review progress and make operational corrections as rrequired.
  • Work with directors and senior management to identify and prioritize Company’s strategic growth.
  • Oversee daily operations of the company, and ensure a smoothly functioning, efficient operational team.
  • Assure operational quality and stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular evaluation.
  • Overall responsibility for client satisfaction and retention based on the delivery of high quality, punctual and budgeted clearing and forwarding services.
  • Overseeing daily business operations and weekly / monthly reporting on operational performances.
  • Measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and finds ways to improve processes.
  • Providing technical support and oversight of Transport and related operating policies and procedures.
  • Development of operational strategies by studying industry best practices, technological and financial opportunities and producing advisory reports.
  • Identify saving opportunities, leading to reduction in expenses and overheads.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Deliver Operational efficiency by ensuring effective maintenance standards are always adhered to.
  • Measure effectiveness and efficiency of Workshop turnaround times and find ways to improve processes.
  • Assure maintenance quality and stability through regular evaluation of purchased parts and supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Civil or any related engineering.
  • Minimum of ten years’ relevant industry experience, 5 at a senior management level.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and lifting equipment.
  • Excellent negotiation, organizational and interpersonal.
  • Impeccable reporting and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, with excellent people skills and business.
  • Detailed and results focused, with exemplary work.
  • Ability to lead employees and encourage maximum performance and dedication.
