Job Title: Senior Investment Associate
Reports to: Investment Principal
Location: Nairobi

PROFILE INTRODUCTION
Our client, a Private Equity firm, seeks to onboard a Senior Investment Associate. The role holder will support the team in all phases of the investment process, from deal sourcing to closing
transactions. This includes the execution of transactions, which involves investment screening, due diligence, financial analysis, drafting investment proposals, deal structuring, negotiation, portfolio management, and exit readiness.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Senior Investment Associate will:
1. Work with senior investment team members to source and screen investment opportunities. Evaluate potential new investments for the firm in a wide variety of sectors with the capability to produce strong returns. Track and manage a pipeline of new potential investments.
2. Conduct due diligence on potential investments in collaboration with deal leads to assess the prospects’ financial and social performance, value creation opportunities, and mission fit with the firm.
3. Participate in deal structuring and execution, by taking investment deals through the firm’s investment process. Prepare and present screening memos and detailed investment
recommendations to the Partners and Investment Committee for review and approval.
4. Build and maintain financial models, and conduct valuation analyses, and performance benchmarking to facilitate and support investment decision making.
5. Work alongside the firm’s investment teams serving on portfolio company boards as well as directly with senior management teams of the firm’s portfolio companies to manage and grow the portfolio of investments, while finding ways to add value and ensure governance.
6. Support Partner/Principal/Investment Director and Finance on financial reporting and assessment of portfolio companies through the preparation of analysis of key financial and
business metrics on a weekly monthly/quarterly basis.
7. To build and maintain productive and strategic relationships with entrepreneurs/ investors /fund managers/ regulators/ consultants’/line managers/ stakeholders to drive the
development and delivery of business solutions and revenue growth for the specific portfolios.
8. Support ongoing capital and fundraising efforts, which include building and nurturing a pipeline of prospective investors and working with various stakeholders across the
organization by producing investor presentations, and drafting business plans and strategic plans.
9. Maintains a detailed and current understanding of the industry; (at a macro, sector-specific, current market structures; deal flow, regulatory requirements, and issues) to ensure that those opportunities are realized and the risks mitigated.
10. Ensure compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
11. On a daily basis, review and recommend potential leads, manage office activities, review and monitor team performance, attend to escalated issues from the investment companies, teams, and stakeholders and analyze financial and industry data on clients to facilitate a comprehensive review of the portfolio.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s degree preferably in analytical disciplines.
 Professional qualifications i.e. CFA, ACCA, CPA.
 A Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.
 Six (6) years as total minimum years of experience.
 A minimum of five (5) years of experience in investment banking, financial advisory, private equity, venture capital, and/or management consulting.
