Our client, a dynamic company that delivers environmentally friendly solution to Agriculture and Horticulture sectors is seeking to recruit a Coffee Agronomist. The successful candidate MUST have experience working in Coffee Farms and be willing to travel across coffee regions in Kenya. The ideal candidate Must have In-depth knowledge of coffee production principles and practices in Kenya.
Key Requirements:
- Advise key stakeholders across regulatory / corporate affairs / R&D on coffee practices, risks, and methods of improvement.
- Define the roadmap of work required to improve Company’s understanding of the coffee agronomy and to enable definition of best practices to support economic, sustainable, and risk management aspects.
- Build and enhance the external network of local business relationships from growers / co-operatives / processors / buyers and other coffee agronomy companies in Kenya.
- Design and implement optimal programmes for maximizing coffee yields and profitability.
- Conduct in-field training on correct usage and application of Company’s products.
- Perform client follow-up activities to ensure performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct scientific trials with clients and research organisations.
- Document coffee agronomy activities and build knowledge base.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or other relevant agricultural studies.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee agronomy with minimum 2 years field experience.
- Strong commercial skills to achieve Company’s business objectives and sales goals.
- Good command of coffee nutrition requirements and management practises.
- Flexible to travel to all coffee growing regions in Kenya
- Experience with research methods, analysis of data and presentation of results.
- Proven communication and presentation skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Computer literacy with MS Office and MS Outlook.
- Valid driving licence.
- Fluent in Kiswahili and English.
