In line with our commitment to bring on board qualified, skilled and motivated team members, we are seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidate for the below position;
- The main objective of the position holder is to provide faculty with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes.
- The role involves consulting with faculty to identify course goals and applicable evidence-based instructional strategies.
- The role will focus on the integration of innovative online and technology-enhanced course components to enhance learning across different delivery modes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director; ZDS, the position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:
- Research and implement new strategies to remain competitive in the delivery of education; research emerging technologies and their application design support for students in using e-learning tools for effective study.
- Undertake research into aspects of technology -enhanced learning and contribute to the writing of research papers resulting from these activities.
- Keep abreast of development within the e-learning fields and ensure that software skills are up to date.
- Plan, implement and manage online course development process including faculty training and quality course design reviews.
- Advise teaching staff on the best practice for creating interactive content.
- Provides instructional design support to faculty through consultation with individuals and collaborative course design teams.
- Assists faculty in the development of course materials for delivery of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.
- Assists faculty with conversion of face-to-face courses to hybrid and online formats.
- Collaborates, assists, develops and participates in facilitation of capacity development workshops, particularly with regard to course design, online teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction.
- Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s training needs
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc)
- Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
