Our client is a well established NGO specializing in wildlife conservation in Kenya. They wish to recruit an experienced individual for the position of Conservation Education Director who will provide oversight to the Education Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic development of curriculum for outdoor conservation education
• Provide oversight of activation events in schools and the community
• Influence the conservation agenda through schools and by extension the local community
• Screen and identify suitable schools for conservation partnerships
• Identify areas of improvement on the education outreach program
• Provide overall management of the education center and related camps activities
• Grant writing and fund raising
• Management of annual budget
• Provide leadership and supervision of a team of educators
• Develop and influence relationships with schools and government agencies, major donors etc.
• Effective management of activities and stakeholders especially children with extreme attention to detail and sensitivities
• Carry out Risk assessments of the education department and provide risk mitigation measures
• Training of trainers
• Monitoring and evaluation of programs under Education
• Manage Media and communications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
• Minimum five years’ experience
