Duties and responsibilities of the officer entail;
Implementing of quality assurance and risk management strategies, policies and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives;
Carrying out risk assessments for various processes in the Institute;
Champion monthly review of controls and report on effectiveness of the controls;
Monitoring adherence to quality systems and comply with brand standards, governmental controls and ISO quality standards and maintaining requisite documents;
Implementing Quality Systems;
To ensure that only products that meet the company’s quality standards are produced and delivered to customers;
Providing timely feedback on potential quality deviation and providing support for rectification of anomaly;
Assist to roll-out risk awareness initiatives;
Obtain and consolidate the various risk and compliance reports from the various departments/units to ensure proper documentation;
Updating Directorate/Departmental and corporate risk registers;
Assist with administrative aspects of the risk and compliance unit;
Work with external parties to investigate and provide evidence where a breach of controls has been identified;
Develop and monitor due diligence procedures and KYC documentation that will be used for on boarding of business partners;
Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operational and technical staff,
Maintaining controls and documentation procedures and policies;
Implementing annual quality assurance and enterprise risk management plan;
Carrying out quarterly routine awareness programs to management on risk management;
Carrying out quarterly audits to ensure compliance with ISO procedures;
Conducting and scheduling effective training for staff in regard to quality management systems and risk management;
Preparing of reports for each quality assurance and risk management assignment to risk/process owners; and
Monitoring implementation of agreed risk management mitigation measures with risk/process owners.
Requirements for Appointment/Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science such as Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Statistics, Business Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Professional certification in risk management;
At least 3 years experience in designing, documenting and implementing risk management systems is an added advantage;
Proficient in computer applications;
Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution;
Ability to analyze data and identify trends and patterns; and
Ability to adhere to a code of ethical conduct;
Attention to detail.
